Knill succeeds Doug Gruber, 44, who, as previously announced, was named business line executive for electrical/electronic distribution systems at Delphi Packard.

He is respected for his strong business knowledge, his hands-on plant experience, and his ability to build strong and results-oriented teams."

In 1984, Knill joined the company as a cooperative education student from General Motors Institute (now known as Kettering University), assigned to GM of Canada. Beginning in 1989, he served in a variety of assignments in engineering and operations for GM of Canada. In 1997, Knill joined the GM Treasurer's Staff in New York, where he was a financial analyst in business development and in overseas finance. Knill then joined the Delphi Treasurer's Office as manager of corporate finance for Latin America and was later named director of mergers and acquisitions for the Corporation. In 2002, he joined the Delphi Packard team as the European finance director.

Knill holds a bachelor's of science degree in electrical engineering from General Motors Institute and received a master's of business administration from the University of Western Ontario Ivey School of Business as part of the GM Fellowship Program.
