DETROIT May 3, 2004; Today General Motors launches an expanded website that offers motorsport fans an up-close and personal look at GM's involvement in racing: www.gmracing.com. The revised site features a historical depiction of GM's motorsport beginnings, vibrant photography and articles on GM's technological innovations in racing and their transfer to production vehicles. The site also includes real-time racing news, a year-long calendar of racing events and access to a GM Racing merchandise store.
"General Motors races to win across a wide spectrum of motorsports and is the only manufacturer that currently competes in NASCAR, the Indy Racing League, NHRA and the 24 Hours of Le Mans," said Steve Shannon, director of marketing services. "The updated site provides an inside look at the vast world of GM's racing involvement."
The website will be updated regularly with new racing images and refreshed with compelling articles on what happens behind the scenes of the GM Racing team. This month features the success of the new Cadillac CTS-V race program, fresh from a victorious debut at Sebring with a 1-2 finish in Round 1 of the SCCA Speed World Challenge GT, as well as a story on the development of the GM global V-6 engine with variable valve timing used by Matt Hartford in the NHRA Summit Racing series.
