Porsche Cars North America Reports April U.S. Sales
Best April in History; Porsche 911 Sales Up 20 Percent
ATLANTA, May 3 -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars (Boxster, 911, Carrera GT and Cayenne) in the United States and Canada, today announced U.S. retail sales totaled 3,325 vehicles in April, up 15 percent compared to the same month last year. It was the best April in history for Porsche in the U.S., with the previous record of 2,889 cars set in April 2003. In addition, year-to-date sales were up 37 percent to 10,262 cars.
"Spring has arrived for our sports cars, and the tops are down on our Cabriolets," said PCNA CEO Peter Schwarzenbauer. "Porsche 911 sales are near record levels, and even Boxster is exceeding our expectations for this point in its life cycle."
Sales of Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned cars were also ahead of expectations at 1,448 cars. "Customers are excited about having a Porsche- backed warranty, financing and leasing for pre-owned Porsches," said Schwarzenbauer.
