DaimlerChrysler U.S. Sales Increase 1% Year-Over-Year for April 2004
- Chrysler Group Achieves One Percent Year-Over-Year Sales Increase - Mercedes-Benz USA April sales rise three percent to 18,384 vehicles
NEW YORK, May 3 -- DaimlerChrysler AG , releasing sales information in advance of detailed information to be announced by Chrysler Group and Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA), today reported sales of 207,395 passenger vehicles in the U.S. in April 2004, up one percent compared to April 2003. The sales figures are reported on an unadjusted basis.
Chrysler Group, which consists of the Chrysler, Jeep(R) and Dodge brands, posted sales of 189,011 vehicles in the U.S., up one percent. With its product offensive fully underway, the Chrysler Group now has six new models in production for 2004, while three more new models are slated to arrive at dealerships this year, including the Chrysler Crossfire Roadster, the Dodge Dakota, and the new Jeep(R) Grand Cherokee.
MBUSA, which is currently gearing up for the biggest product offensive in its history, posted sales of 18,384 units, up three percent compared to the same month last year.
Detailed vehicle sales information for MBUSA and Chrysler Group will be announced later today in separate press releases issued by the groups.
