Plastech Selects Agilisys to Improve Logistics and Supply Chain Visibility
Company to implement supply chain solution across 34 locations
ATLANTA, May 3 -- Agilisys Inc., a global provider of enterprise software solutions to select manufacturing vertical markets, today announced that Plastech Engineered Products, Inc. ("Plastech") has selected Agilisys AutoRelease and SupplyWEB in an effort to increase supply chain and logistics visibility, as well as meet their increasing customer demands. Plastech will implement Agilisys throughout 34 plant locations, replacing QAD's MFG/PRO and Supply Visualization products.
Plastech recently acquired LDM Technologies, Inc., which had 16 plants running an earlier version of a supply chain visualization product. After the acquisition, Plastech mandated a standardization of their supply chain solutions enterprise-wide. The company conducted an exhaustive evaluation of automotive-specific supply chain solutions, and based on Plastech's industry- specific requirements, Agilisys became the clear choice for their supply chain initiative.
"Thriving in today's fast paced automotive marketplace requires the ability for suppliers to cost-effectively function on a global basis, while handling very specific customer and regional requirements," said David LeBlanc, VP of Information Technology at Plastech. "Agilisys understands these unique nuances of the automotive industry and provides best-of-breed solutions to meet those needs."
"As Plastech continues to grow, Agilisys Automotive's supply chain solutions have the ability to scale to their increasing demands," said Robin Pederson, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Agilisys' automotive business practice. "SupplyWEB is the premier automotive supply chain solution in the marketplace today, and by using our automotive expertise, Plastech will have the ability to lower inventories and carrying costs company-wide."
SupplyWEB is an automotive, web-enabled Supply Chain Management solution designed to reduce supply chain costs, reduce inventory and increase operational efficiencies. SupplyWEB presents one face to automotive suppliers, combining the information from multiple versions of separate ERP systems into a single, universal view for suppliers and internal users. SupplyWEB includes traditional EDI communication and Web based methods, with a mix of capabilities ranging from fully integrated machine-to-machine EDI transactions to manual fax. With SupplyWEB, companies can achieve 100% electronic communications with all suppliers, even if some of them do not have EDI capability.
AutoRelease is a fully integrated EDI, release accounting, shipping control and invoicing system that supports over 250 trading partners with the latest EDI transactions sets as mandated by automotive suppliers and manufacturers. Seamless integration is provided between the demand management processes and business applications through our Configurable Interface. This allows for information to be shared between inventory, manufacturing and financial systems, without the need for customized programs. AutoRelease can be deployed as an enterprise based system within a facility or delivered in an ASP model hosted and maintained by Agilisys Automotive.
