Toyota to become 1st Japanese firm with over Y1 tril profit

TOKYO May 1, 2004; Japan Today reported that Toyota Motor Corp is set to become the first Japanese company to post a group net profit of more than 1 trillion yen, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported Saturday.

The leading business daily said the nation's largest automaker is projected to post a group net profit of about 1.1 trillion yen for the fiscal year ended March 31. (Kyodo News)
