Third season starts at Goodwood!
Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels
starts this weekend.
GOODWOOD, ONTARIO - The third season of the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting
Championship presented by Toronto Star Wheels will get underway this
weekend with the season opening event at Goodwood Kartways. There have been
many changes to the championship in the off season and this year the
championship looks stronger than ever.
Changes for this season include adding four more classes to bring the class
total to ten. World Formula Junior, RotaxMax Junior, Canada Senior Light,
and Canada Junior Light classes have been added this year.
There is also a change in the format of the races. Gone are the double race
weekends. Now each class will have one race per weekend, and every race
will count toward the class championships. This is a major change from last
year as each driver was allowed two 'drops' during the season.
New also for this year is the addition of Cameron Motorsports
(www.cameronmotorsports.com) as the Fast Qualifier award sponsor. Cameron
Motorsports operates the Hamilton facility and provides a unique
arrive-and-drive rookie series that brings many new drivers into the sport.
They also field one of the biggest teams competing in the series.
Sunoco, GMRacing, Pratt&Miller, Rotax, GM Canada and Briggs & Stratton are
all back as series sponsors as well as Toronto Star Wheels as presenting
sponsor.
Racing will get underway Saturday afternoon at Goodwood for Canada Junior
Light, RotaxMax Junior, World Formula Junior, Canada Senior Light and
Formula Junior. Sunday's race schedule is for Formula Senior, Canada Junior
Heavy, RotaxMax Senior, World Formula Senior, and Canada Senior.
