NEW YORK and STUTTGART, Germany, April 29 -- Following its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of DaimlerChrysler AG issued the following statement:

In light of current media reports, the Supervisory Board felt compelled once more to reaffirm during today's meeting that it supports the strategic direction of the company to the full extent. At the same time, the Supervisory Board also underscores its complete support for the Chairman of the Board, Professor Juergen E. Schrempp, and his colleagues in the Board of Management.
