Gentex Begins Shipping for New Hyundai SUV
ZEELAND, Mich., April 29 -- Gentex Corporation , the leading supplier of automatic-dimming mirrors to the worldwide automotive industry, has begun shipping interior auto-dimming mirrors with a built-in compass display for the new Hyundai Tucson, a compact SUV. The Tucson will be sold worldwide.
Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear. The brighter the glare, the darker the mirrors become, making nighttime driving safer.
The Tucson MXL will come equipped with a Gentex interior auto-dimming mirror that features a built-in electronic compass display utilizing Johnson Controls' PathPoint(R) Digital Compass System. The Tucson MX will offer the mirror as optional equipment.
"This is the first time we've shipped compass mirrors to Korea," stated Gentex Executive Vice President Garth Deur. "Hyundai continues to lead the way by introducing new features to the Korean market."
