New Month, New Luck, For Stremme in California

Ontario, CA (May 1, 2004) – David Stremme is anxious to put the month of
April behind Team TRIMSPA. Stremme entered the month ninth in Busch Series points,
however after three uncharacteristic finishes of 27th or worse, Stremme now
finds himself 17th in the points standings.

“We are putting the month of April behind us,” said Stremme, driver of the
TRIMSPA X32 Dodge. “Team TRIMSPA loaded a brand new Dodge on the hauler to
leave for California on Monday. We just finished a test at Michigan International
Speedway that will help us with our intermediate track program. We are turning
the page here at Braun to get back to where we were at the beginning of the
season.”

Stremme started the 2004 season with a bang, with three top-10’s, two top
fives, and an outside pole in the first four races. Since then Stremme has
experienced bad luck of almost every form in racing.

“There is no reason to keep harping on it,” explains Stremme. “Most of our
bad luck has been out of our control, but a portion of it we can control. That’
s what we have been working on the past few weeks. Our cars are still fast and
we are learning.”

Team TRIMSPA has resigned to hard work and focus to change their luck heading
into May, after several other solutions failed. At the beginning of April
Chassis 10, otherwise known as “Longhorn”, was thought to be good luck due to
its top finish at Las Vegas and Darlington. However, three flat tires, a blown
engine, and a broken transmission later at Nashville Superspeedway and the luck
appeared to have run out. Stremme did what he could to shake the gremlins by
wearing brand new driving gloves and race suit for Talladega, but to no avail.
At one point Team TRIMSPA believed that certain members of the “NBS 24/7”
production crew, who only attended part of the schedule, actually brought good
luck.

“I don’t believe in good luck charms after this month,” said Stremme. “
Heck, when Jamie (McMurray) won the race for us at Rockingham they had peanuts
(notorious for giving race teams bad luck) all over their hauler. I have complete
faith in this TRIMSPA Team. If we stay focused and each do what we do best,
then we will make our own luck.”

Stremme and the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge will be back on track this weekend in
the1-800-PIT-SHOP.COM 300 at California Speedway. The race will be televised live,
May 1st, at 4:00 p.m. eastern time on FOX and will broadcast nationally at
that same time on radio stations affiliated with Motor Racing Network (MRN) and
XM Satellite Radio Channel 144.
