Miller's new assignment is the result of a realignment within Cooper's tire group to better focus on target markets, support the company's strategic plan and ensure the right resources are in place to grow the tire business globally.

"The strategy for our tire group has evolved to include capitalizing on emerging markets around the world," said Cooper's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas Dattilo. "Hal is well equipped to lead our opportunities for manufacturing, marketing and outsourcing in Asia, Eastern Europe and other areas of the world."

Hal joined Cooper in March 2002 as vice president, corporate planning and control. He joined the company after 16 years of service with the Eaton Corporation in Toledo, Ohio, where he had most recently served as vice president and general manager for the fluid power hose and plastic operation overseeing global divisional operations dedicated to engineering, manufacturing and distribution throughout nine manufacturing sites in North America, Europe, South America and Asia. His background also includes mergers and acquisitions and 10 years in public accounting.

A Certified Public Accountant since 1975, Miller earned his MBA from the University of Toledo in 1988 and his bachelor's of business administration from the University of Cincinnati in 1975.
