FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif., April 27 -- Navman, a leading designer and manufacturer of world-class global positioning systems (GPS), communication and marine products, announced today the latest addition to its innovative line of GPS products for the consumer electronics market, the Navman GPS 4410. Designed for use with Bluetooth(TM)-enabled Pocket PCs, this upgraded version of Navman's popular GPS 4400 leverages the power of the advanced navigation software and the latest in wireless technology, to deliver the next generation of handheld guidance systems. Additionally, Navman has released a GPS 4100 hardware-only solution for consumers looking to use other navigation software with Navman's Bluetooth technology.

Bundled with the latest version of Navman's award-winning navigation software, SmartST(TM) V2, the 4410 blazes the trail with a feature set unmatched in the industry. Exciting new software capabilities include Microsoft(R) Outlook(TM) integration for advanced address-to-contact routing, a time-saving zip code search tool, the ability to pre-select areas to avoid, a handy town to town routing function, complete route summary, enhanced zooming functionality and a striking 3D map display option that truly enhances the visual navigation experience. Other standard features include address-to- address routing, selectable map views, automatic and manual zoom for map detail control, Back-on-Track(TM) rerouting when off-course, day and night screen modes and an extensive points-of-interest library. The fully automated software provides voice guidance, in addition to visual driving instructions and, large display icons and easy-to-read maps provide an operator-friendly, touch-screen interface for added safety while driving. The complete solution contains detailed street-level mapping for the 48 contiguous states, Hawaii, Alaska and Canada.

The GPS 4410 and 4100 employ high-performance GPS receivers combined with embedded, Class 2 Bluetooth transceivers, which facilitates the wireless communication of accurate satellite navigation information a handheld device. Once the navigation software is installed onto the user's computer, it can be downloaded to the PDA via synchronization, and map, voice and POI data is stored on an SD Card. A blinking LED displays connectivity status and low battery indication. The complete GPS 4410 solution includes a wireless GPS antenna, SmartST Version 2 navigation software, a vehicle power adapter and vehicle mounting brackets (for both GPS receiver and PDA). The unit operates for 30 hours on 3 AAA Alkaline batteries (included).
