McCoy Miller's Long-term Paint Warranty Enhances Product Quality and Performance, Reduces Operating Costs

ELKHART, Ind., April 26 -- McCoy Miller, one of the nation's leading manufacturers of emergency vehicles, has introduced a seven-year paint warranty on all company products. The company is one of only two specialty vehicle manufacturers in the United States to provide such a long-term, comprehensive paint warranty, backed by a leading automotive paint supplier.

"This innovative offering is just another example of the customer-focused mindset that the 'new' McCoy Miller stands for," said Mike Gaudiani, president and CEO of VSV Group, Inc., McCoy's parent company.

"McCoy Miller is strongly committed to pleasing customers, shareholders and employees. The company has made substantial investments in human capital and new technology in an effort to improve quality, durability and product satisfaction for our dealers and end-users, while simultaneously reducing costs and improving factory efficiency," added Gaudiani.

McCoy Miller has enhanced paint performance, consistency and resistance by adopting a proprietary high-gloss paint finish used mainly for high-end European passenger vehicles. The unique fast-drying polyurethane basecoat/clearcoat technology provides extreme durability, chip resistance and enhanced repair capability combined with a rich, wet-paint look highly favored by both customers and dealers.

McCoy Miller's employees have taken full ownership of the new paint system, reducing the company's pre-delivery inspection and warranty costs by nearly 50 percent over the last two years. This process includes an extensive three-month in-house training program for McCoy Miller's body and paint finish technicians, routine audits of paint application processes and technical staff workmanship, and periodic submissions of paint test panels for laboratory analysis of durability and performance.

"Corrosion warranty claims have dropped to zero since we started marketing McCoy Miller's new paint technology. It's the most fantastic looking, durable finish we've ever seen," said Leo Branstetter, president of Peak Motor Coach, a specialty vehicle dealer located in the Rocky Mountain states.
