NAVTEQ and Mobility Technologies Sign Agreement To Integrate Mobility Technologies' Traffic Pulse Data Into NAVTEQ Traffic Solution for North America
CHICAGO, April 26 -- NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for in-vehicle, Internet/wireless, government and business solutions, today announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement with Mobility Technologies, a provider of real-time traffic and transportation information and services, to integrate Mobility Technologies' Traffic Pulse(R) data into its NAVTEQ Traffic(TM) solution for North America.
Mobility Technologies provides high quality traffic data for the most populous cities in the United States and is one of the premium traffic data services NAVTEQ is integrating to deliver NAVTEQ Traffic. NAVTEQ Traffic for North America enables in-vehicle navigation systems to provide personalized, real-time information for a driver's chosen route*. Through a unique data gathering, aggregation and quality-tested process, this solution links up-to-the minute traffic information to map data and enables wireless transmission direct to the navigation system.
NAVTEQ has been collaborating with Mobility Technologies on the development of NAVTEQ Traffic for the last two years, teaming to deliver both trial data and the commercial solution. Mobility Technologies' Traffic Pulse product offers traffic information -- planned incidents (such as road construction), unplanned incidents (such as accidents and disabled vehicles) and flow (speed and movement of traffic) data -- critical to the delivery of a real-time, personalized traffic solution.
