Agreement Averts Strike of OPEIU Local 459: Statement of the UAW-GM Center for Human Resources

DETROIT, April 23 -- The following is a statement from the UAW-GM Center for Human Resources:

We are pleased to announce that the UAW-GM Center for Human Resources and OPEIU Local 459 have agreed on a framework for continued negotiations.

Accordingly, we have been advised that OPEIU Local 459 has informed its membership that a strike has been averted.

All economic issues have been settled. Negotiators for both sides will continue to discuss a couple of areas of mutual concern in efforts to finalize a tentative agreement that can be presented to the OPEIU membership.
