Chrysler Group Donates '300C-Note' to Orlando Science Center in Conjunction with Chrysler Brand 'Premiere Night/Days' Celebration
* $30,000 donation to fund educational outreach programs
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. and ORLANDO, Fla., April 22 -- Playing off the name of one of its newest vehicles -- the Chrysler 300C -- the Chrysler Group is donating a "300C-Note" -- or $30,000 -- to the Orlando Museum of Science and Technology as part of the Chrysler brand's "Premiere Night/Days" celebration. The money will be used to sponsor educational outreach programs, including school field trips.
The check will be presented on April 22 at 6:30 p.m. during "Premiere Night" festivities at Central Florida Chrysler/Jeep(R)/Dodge, located at 8675 Commodity Circle in Orlando. Eric Ridenour, Executive Vice President for Product Development from the Company's headquarters in Auburn Hills, Mich., will be on hand to make the presentation.
The Chrysler 300C is one of the stars of the Hollywood-style "Premiere Night/Days" event, which celebrates the biggest product offensive in Chrysler Group history. The Chrysler brand is hosting the first of three branded events on April 22 to provide the consumer with a "sneak preview" of the new line of Chrysler vehicles, some on display at dealerships even before they become widely available. Among the other vehicles that will be on display is the Chrysler Town & Country with Stow n' Go(TM) seating and storage system, Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible and Chrysler Pacifica.
"In the cities and towns that are home to Chrysler Group offices and dealerships, we strive to be good neighbors," said Ridenour. "Through these donations, we hope we can inspire young people to embrace science and math, and possibly pursue careers in the automotive industry."
"The Chrysler Group is helping us to reach tens of thousands of young people with the message that there is great opportunity in high technology fields like the automotive industry," said Dr. Brian Tonner, President and CEO of the Orlando Science Center. "Their support will have a great impact on the future of our area youth."
More than four million consumers have been invited to the first "Premiere Night" event, being held at more than 2,100 dealerships across the country. The April 22 event will be followed by two "Premiere Days" of public celebration, when consumers are invited to visit their local participating Chrysler dealer.
The Dodge "Premiere Night" will be held on June 17, and the Jeep Premiere Night will take place in the fall.
The Orlando Science Center is one of America's top hands-on science centers where learning is always fun. Located in Orlando, Florida, interactive learning and discovery await within the center's more than 50,000 square feet of exhibits, programs and labs, giant screen films and planetarium shows. The science center provides educational opportunities both within and outside the center's walls, including field trips, family science nights at schools and community centers and other outreach.
