Clean Energy and the City of Dallas Partner to Develop CNG Vehicle Fueling Facility at Dallas Love Field

SEAL BEACH, Calif.--April 22, 2004--

Dallas Mayor Laura Miller and Clean Energy founder Boone Pickens join in groundbreaking ceremony for new station today

Clean Energy, North America's leader in clean transportation, and the City of Dallas have developed a public/private partnership to construct and operate a compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicular fueling facility at Dallas Love Field. The facility is planned to promote alternative fuel usage by airport shuttle services and provide increased availability to the city's expanding fleet of CNG-fueled service vehicles. The City of Dallas operates more than 900 CNG vehicles and plans to expand that number to 1,200 vehicles by the end of 2004.

"Promoting clean air throughout the Dallas area continues to challenge our resources," said Laura Miller, Mayor, City of Dallas. "We are pleased to establish this relationship with Clean Energy to expand the needed CNG fueling infrastructure in our city."

The new station, in conjunction with a second station being built near downtown Dallas, represents a public/private partnership between the City of Dallas and Clean Energy, leveraging the city's funds and taxpayer dollars while helping to benefit the environment by encouraging clean transportation. The City of Dallas is providing the land and paving improvements, and Clean Energy is providing the equipment and installation under a 10-year operating agreement.

"Our basic business approach in each region we serve is to work together with local government and public agencies to develop viable alternative fuel programs," said Andrew J. Littlefair, President of Clean Energy. "The new Love Field CNG station is a perfect example of the benefits of that cooperation."

Clean Energy is the largest provider of vehicular natural gas (CNG and LNG) in North America with a broad customer base in the refuse, transit, shuttle, taxi, police, intrastate and interstate trucking, airport and municipal fleet markets -- with tens of thousands of vehicles fueling at strategic locations in the United States and Canada. Clean Energy is a private company whose major shareholders include Boone Pickens, Terasen Inc. (formerly BC Gas Inc., TSE:TER.TO), Westport Innovations Inc. and Perseus 2000 LLC.
