Coors Light Dodge Gallops Off to Talladega with Kentucky Derby Paint
Scheme
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 20, 2004) ---Coors Light is teaming two of
their biggest sporting sponsorships and hitting the tracks. Sterling
Marlin, driver of the No. 40 Coors Light Dodge will add some horsepower
this weekend with a special Kentucky Derby paint scheme for the Aaron's
499 at Talladega Superspeedway.
The special paint scheme is a cross promotion between Churchill Downs,
the Kentucky Derby, NASCAR and Action Performance. Coors Light is the
primary sponsor of Marlin's No. 40 Dodge as well as the official beer of
the 130th Kentucky Derby.
Marlin's Coors Light Dodge will be adorned by the official Derby 130
logo designed by Churchill Downs.
"I think it is a neat paint scheme idea," Marlin said. "Coors is
involved in so many other sporting events and venues that it is great
when they can showcase more than one."
The 130th running of the "Run for the Roses" will take place on
Saturday, May 1.
Marlin, who currently sits 14th in NASCAR NEXTEL Cup championship
points, has had two wins at Talladega Superspeedway and 16 top-10
finishes in 42 starts there.
Sterling Marlin will race his Kentucky Derby Coors Light Dodge in the
Aaron's 499 on Sunday, April 25. The race will be broadcast live on POX
television and MRN radio.
