Stremme Looks for More Superspeedway Success in Talladega

Talladega, AL (April 19, 2004) – TRIMSPA driver David Stremme may never have
raced in a Busch Series event at Talladega Superspeedway but that does not
mean he is completely a rookie. In fact, Stremme has logged laps at the 2.66-mile
track in about every way possible other than an actual NASCAR race. Stremme
first drove at Talladega in a Ganassi Nextel Cup car during the filming of the
new NASCAR IMAX movie.

“Being a part of a movie at any level is exciting,” admits the South Bend,
IN native. “People will still be watching that movie years from now. The races
on TV don’t stand the test of time in the same way.”

Stremme’s second experience at Talladega came in last year’s ARCA race,
where he drove a Coors Light Dodge through Ganassi’s driver development program.
Stremme started third but finished 21st after leading many laps.

“The purpose of the ARCA race was to give me seat time at a restrictor plate
race,” said Stremme, driver of the TRIMSPA X32 Dodge. “We had a great car and
were up front battling for the lead, but some contact with another car forced
an unscheduled stop. That was one of the most frustrating finishes I have
ever had.”

Stremme next took to the Talladega high banks to participate in NASCAR’s
aerodynamics package test session during the off-season. Having experience with
NASCAR’s new restrictor plate aero package, recently unveiled at Daytona, helped
lead Stremme to a sixth-place finish in his first Busch Series restrictor
plate start.

“We had a great car at Daytona this year and it really started our season out
right,” said Stremme. “Right now we are trying to turn around the bad breaks
we have had in the last three races. I am confident we will run strong at
Talladega. You just have to stay up front and try to avoid the big wreck.”

Stremme and Team TRIMSPA will look to break their bad luck streak when the
Busch Series visits Talladega Superspeedway for the Aaron’s 312 next weekend.
The race will be televised live, April 24th, at 2 p.m. eastern time on FOX and
will broadcast nationally at that same time on radio stations affiliated with
Motor Racing Network (MRN) and XM Satellite Radio Channel 144.
