Two Named to Executive Positions at DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich., April 15 -- DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc. has appointed two individuals to executive positions. Karen Cooper-Boyer and Joe Stich have been promoted to General Manager in their areas of supervision.

  

  Karen Cooper-Boyer

As General Manager of Human Resources, Corporate Services and Human Resource Systems Planning, Cooper-Boyer is responsible for associate relations, compensation and benefits, recruiting, strategic systems planning and associate health at DENSO Manufacturing Michigan, Inc. (DMMI). She also oversees the training, communication and administration departments. Cooper- Boyer joined DMMI in 1990 and was named Assistant General Manager in 1997.

She received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. She also attained Senior Professional in Human Resources certification in 2003.

Cooper-Boyer is a board member of the Kalamazoo Nature Center and the Area Employees Association and serves on the Southwest Michigan Healthcare Coalition. She also is on the governor's Michigan Workforce Investment Board and the Human Resources Board of the City of Portage.

  Cooper-Boyer is a long-time resident of Portage.

  Joe Stich

As General Manager of the Heater, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Plant, Joe Stich oversees manufacturing/operations, process engineering, plant engineering and the Efficient Factory and Toyota Production System programs in the HVAC Plant within DMMI. Before being named Assistant General Manager of the HVAC plant last year, he had been AGM of Production Control since 1996. He came to DMMI in 1988.

Stich received a B.S. degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wis. A Battle Creek resident, Stich is on the board of the Battle Creek Area Math & Science Center and is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Bluegrass Automotive Manufacturers Association.
