Hotels.com Takes the Sting Out of Rising Gasoline Prices With Gasoline Rebate
New Hotels.com Road Trips Provides Local Drive Alternatives Good on One Tank of Gas
DALLAS, April 15 -- Hotels.com, www.hotels.com, the largest specialized discount lodging online travel site worldwide, announced today it is offering its customers a gasoline rebate to help take the sting out of rising gasoline prices. The national average for gasoline prices has been on the rise in recent weeks and is hitting all-time highs topping more than $2.00 per gallon in some cities across the country. Travelers booking accommodations for three nights or more will receive up to $30 back from Hotels.com.
'Many more people travel by car, truck and motorcycle than by any other mode of transportation. This gasoline rebate fits into our philosophy of providing consumers with the most value for their travel dollars, whether it be by offering the lowest hotel rate guarantee or by helping reduce overall travel expenditures," stated Cheryl Rosner, president of Hotels.com. "Additionally, the launch of our new product Road Trips now offers travelers local drive destinations providing information and booking capabilities up to six hours of their homes enabling them to take a trip on just one tank of gas."
Travelers will find a "Gasoline Rebate" icon on the Hotels.com after clicking the deals and specials tab on the homepage providing them with details of the promotion. To qualify for the rebate travelers must book accommodations now through May 11, 2004 for three nights or more at any of the more than 400 markets worldwide serviced by Hotels.com for stays through August 31, 2004. Upon completion of their trip, travelers simply need to mail in a copy of their gasoline receipt along with the rebate certificate they find online; Hotels.com will then credit their charge card for the amount spent on gas up to $30.
