Research Frontiers Licenses DuPont to Make SPD-Smart Architectural and Automotive Smart Windows, and Emulsion and Light-Control Film
WOODBURY, N.Y.--April 14, 2004--Research Frontiers Incorporated has granted DuPont a non-exclusive license to manufacture and sell SPD-Smart(TM) architectural and automotive window products worldwide (except Korea). The license provides for a 10% royalty to Research Frontiers on sales of licensed products.In addition, Research Frontiers has granted DuPont a worldwide non-exclusive license to manufacture and sell SPD-Smart(TM) emulsion and light-control film made from such emulsion to Research Frontiers licensees for use in a variety of SPD-Smart glass and plastic products. Other terms of the license and DuPont's specific product development plans have not been disclosed at this time.
In a window, sunroof, or other product using VaryFast(TM) SPD-Smart(TM) technology, the user can manually or automatically "tune" the amount of light, glare and heat coming into a home, office, or vehicle.
