The Champ Car World Series to Spin More Laps on Fox Sports en Espanol; Spanish Telecasts To Feature Four of Mexico's Top Drivers in 2004 Series
LOS ANGELES--April 14, 2004--The "Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered By Ford" will take another spin in Spanish on Fox Sports en Espanol beginning with the Grand Prix of Long Beach on Sunday, April 18, at 9:00 p.m. PT/12:00 a.m. ET.All 16 races will be televised exclusively in Spanish on Fox Sports en Espanol throughout the 2004 season.
The Champ Car Series, which averaged an event crowd of over 133,000 in 2003, ranks second among all forms of motorsport in the world in average attendance per event. The race drew 221,011 in Mexico City on race day last year as fans came to support native drivers Michael Jourdain Jr., Mario Dominquez, Roberto Gonzalez, Rodolfo Lavin and 2003 Premios Fox Sports recipient Adrian Fernandez.
In addition to 2003 Champ Car champion Paul Tracy, four Mexican drivers are returning to compete in 2004: Jourdain Jr., Dominquez, Gonzalez and Lavin. In all, thirteen drivers have confirmed their participation for 2004.
