Bridgestone Ships 1 Million Run-flat Tires

Tokyo April 9, 2004; Aki Tsukioka writing for JCNN reported that Bridgestone has announced that run-flat tire shipments topped 1 million units as of the end of February.

The company delivered its first commercial run-flat tires to Porsche in 1987. Bridgestone's side-reinforced run-flat tires are unique in that they support the vehicle even when tire pressure is reduced.
