Ringers on the Road: Las Vegas

Ringers on the Road
Latest race: 5th annual SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at LVMS
Up next: 17th annual O’Reilly Spring Nationals at Houston Raceway Park

First off, let me apologize for being backed up on my “Ringers on the Road”
update. It’s been a whirlwind since Phoenix and I’ve barely had time to
sit down and write my thoughts.

The Gatornationals at Gainesville were scorching hot, but I enjoyed it.
It was an escape from the cold Indianapolis weather that I’m use to in the
winter months.

Ringers drivers Greg Anderson and Tony Schumacher both captured their
second trophies of the season. And in Vegas this past weekend, Anderson and
Schumacher took home their third trophies of the year. Talk about domination…three
wins in four races.

We’d also like to give props to Ringers boys Whit Bazemore in the MATCO
Tools Funny Car and Larry Dixon in his Miller Lite Top Fuel dragster for
advancing to their first final round of the year. Unfortunately they both fell to
their competitors in the end.

Speaking of Las Vegas, Ringers would like to send out a huge
congratulation to Mike from Bud King Racing. Let’s just say Mike was a lucky money winner
at the Imperial Palace last Wednesday.

Between the Gainesville and Vegas NHRA races, I was able to take in the
ASA National Tour opener at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Fla.

Ringers driver Butch Miller and his SS Racing team steered to victory in
the SK Hand Tool 200 caution-filled event.

In addition to Miller, we also had 10 other drivers in the race.

Rick Beebe finished 10th; Rich Loch, 11th; Toby Porter, 25th; SS Racing’s
second entry, John Dalziel, 28th; Todd Kluever, 35th; Mike Garvey, 36th; Peter
Cozzolino, 39th; and Scott Lagasse, 40th.

Well, that’s it for me this installment. No racing this weekend for me
since it’s Easter weekend.

Have a great Easter everyone and we’ll talk to you after Houston.

See ya’s at the checkered/finish line.
