California State Automobile Association Selects AT&T for Managed Hosting Services

Association's 4 million members to experience the best in online services

SAN FRANCISCO, April 7 -- The California State Automobile Association (CSAA), the second largest affiliate of the AAA federation, has selected AT&T to provide a managed hosting solution to support CSAA's online, e-enabled services and applications to its growing base of 4.1 million members.

Under terms of the multi-year agreement, AT&T will provide around-the-clock monitoring of CSAA's critical online applications, including the Association's www.csaa.com Web site, from AT&T's San Francisco Bay Area Internet Data Center (IDC).

The agreement, the first step in an aggressive expansion effort by CSAA to deliver a new range of online services to its members, will provide greater flexibility for CSAA's corporate Web presence for online products and services by leveraging AT&T's enterprise networking, managed hosting and application management capabilities.

CSAA decided that AT&T's managed hosting services provided the best environment to support its many Web-based applications, including www.csaa.com, an online site that offers members a wide range of travel, insurance and automotive products and services. The site is one of the most utilized e-commerce sites in the state for insurance services.

"AT&T is a very good fit with CSAA," said Andrew Goldsmith, vice president, IT business development. "AT&T's technology and management capabilities, as well as our existing successful partnership, made this an excellent choice for our managed services solution as we continue to grow and expand."

Goldsmith said that AT&T's ability to provide a scalable network infrastructure to support a wide range of future applications was absolutely critical.

"We needed an infrastructure that not only would support our current needs, but also have the ability to grow as our e-business portfolio expands. AT&T was able to provide us with that," said Sally Grant, vice president, CSAA IT Operations.

CSAA can monitor the performance of its network and applications through the award-winning AT&T Managed Services Portal, which is part of AT&T BusinessDirect(R). The portal provides customers with personalized, secure access to detailed information about their AT&T-hosted environment and applications. BusinessDirect provides customers access to comprehensive real-time reports with integrated data, collaboration tools and electronic customer service tools, including trouble tickets and electronic billing.
