NAVTEQ(TM) Maps Enable Johnson Controls POINT Trip Information System

CHICAGO, April 6 -- NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation, Internet / wireless, government, and business solutions, is enabling Johnson Controls' POINT(TM) Location Based Trip Information System with its NAVTEQ(TM) maps. The POINT system is an easy-to-use, cost-effective product that provides trip data to drivers with reduced complexity.

Johnson Controls chose NAVTEQ as its digital map data provider because of the quality, reliability and accuracy of NAVTEQ maps and map-linked point-of-interest data. NAVTEQ maps help POINT system users identify food, gas and lodging points-of-interests in the area where they are traveling as well as relevant address and cross-street information.

"We turned to NAVTEQ because their map data is powering virtually every in-vehicle navigation system in North America and Europe," said Jim Geschke, vice president and general manager of electronics integration for the Automotive Group of Johnson Controls.

"Johnson Controls' POINT system is a unique, new product that responds to the interests and demands of a different market segment than more traditional in-vehicle systems. We're honored to be working with an industry leader to revolutionize the way people use and think about maps," commented Cliff Fox, Vice President and General Manager - North American Vehicle Business Unit for NAVTEQ.
