AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 6 -- The Jeep(R) brand today announced the launch of a new music series called Jeep Music Trax which will feature performances by established and emerging musicians and encompass Jeep brands commitment to self expression. The addition of the music program to new and existing Jeep brand lifestyle events will allow consumers to enjoy their favorite music and be among the first to discover fresh talent.
The artists selected to perform will reflect the Jeep Music Trax events at which they appear. All venues will incorporate authentic, down-to-earth style and image that represents the Jeep brand's go anywhere, do anything attitude. The integration of the pretense-free, inclusive music environment enhances the lifestyle connection for Jeep.
"There is a natural alignment between music and the Jeep lifestyle" said Jeff Bell, Vice President, Marketing Communications, Chrysler Group. "The freedom, adventure and mastery you feel when driving off-road in a Jeep 4X4 is enhanced by the right soundtrack. The Jeep brand has been helping people to expand their boundaries for more than 60 years, and Jeep Trax continues this heritage while helping emerging artists."
Music has always been an integral part of Jeep brand events and the Jeep Music Trax program underscores this connection. The program will officially launch in New York during the New York Auto Show at a media event at Jeep "Campfire House" on Wednesday, April 7.
The kick-off performance will feature Uncle Kracker performing music from the new "No Stranger to Shame" album and Jonny Lang will perform from his "Long Time Coming" album. Several New York-based emerging artists will perform throughout the remainder of the week at the Jeep 101 course located in the Javits Center at the New York Auto Show.
The entire venue will undergo a jeep-inspired makeover to create a lodge- like atmosphere that brings the great outdoors inside. The Jeep "Campfire House" will feature textured willow walls, oversized rock formation flanking the stage and nature images projected throughout the space. The menu items will be displayed over campfires and will include S'mores and fondue.
The Jeep Music Trax program is scheduled to continue through 2004 with the sponsorship of a Jeep Stage for emerging artists at Counting Crows concerts and other Jeep brand events. In addition to the on-stage performances, event attendees will have the change to be entertained by SIRIUS on-air radio personalities, providing non-stop music, meet extreme athletes, win Jeep gear, be the first to test drive new Jeep brand video games and much more.
Jeep has been in the business of helping people to expand their boundaries and experience life for more than 60 years. Jeep Music Trax is one of several Jeep brand sponsored lifestyle programs, including Jeep Adventure Series and Jeep World of Adventure Sports, designed to support the Jeep active lifestyle with cutting-edge events throughout the year.
