Mitsubishi Motors to reduce number of models

TOKYO April 6, 2004; Japan Today reported that struggling Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors Corp is considering cutting the number of production models in stages to around 10 from the current 19 in a bid to streamline its operations, company sources said Monday.

Mitsubishi Motors, which is owned 37% by DaimlerChrysler AG, may also discontinue domestic sales of its once-popular Pajero sport-utility vehicles, they said. (Kyodo News)
