Japanese cars sweep top 3 in U.S. per dealership sales

NEW YORK April 6, 2004; japan Today reported that Japanese cars dominated the top three of the sales per dealership list in the United States for the fifth straight year, with Toyota Motor Corp cars heading the list for eight consecutive years, the U.S. weekly Automotive News said Monday.

Toyota division cars sold an average 1,323 units per dealership in 2003, followed by its luxury model, Lexus, with an average 1,280 units, the report said. Honda Motor Co cars came in third as the automaker's Honda division sold an average 1,171 units per dealership in 2003, it said. (Kyodo News)
