ASA SHOWDOWN SET FOR MAY AT LANIER

PENDLETON, Ind. (April 2, 2004) -- For the second consecutive season, the ASA
National Tour will compete at the action-packed Lanier National Speedway in Braselton,
Ga. The 250-lap showdown is set for Saturday, May 1, marking the first of two trips to
the state of Georgia for the series that builds champions.

Snapping a two-year winless streak in ASA, Georgia's Mike Garvey returned to the
winner's circle at Lanier in April of 2003. Garvey took the lead from Robbie Pyle on the
245th of 250 laps, using the high groove to grab first-place honors.

Pyle held firm on the inside for second, but entering Turn 3 on the 248th lap, third-place
runner Scott Lagasse Jr. tapped the rear of Pyle's CITGO car. Pyle spun and Lagasse
had to brake to avoid him, but the Floridian kept second place.

At the checkers, Garvey finished .534 seconds ahead of Lagasse with Texas hotshot
Casey Smith rounding out the podium. Reed Sorenson and Butch Miller comprised the
remainder of the top five.

ASA held its inaugural event at the .375-mile Georgia track in April of 2000 with
Wisconsin native Scott Wimmer turning in a memorable performance, winning in just his
second appearance with the series. The current NASCAR Nextel Cup rookie candidate
bypassed 1999 ASA National Tour Champion Tim Sauter on the 179th circuit and then
drove to the win fending off challenges from veterans Mike Miller, Butch Miller and Scott
Hansen. Garvey became the second different winner at Lanier in '03.

Since 1982, Lanier National Speedway has provided the Southeast with some of the
finest racing action. The modern RE/MAX Tower contains the 100-person RE/MAX
Suite, along with eight personal VIP Suites. Each suite is equipped with air conditioning,
private restrooms, refrigerators, PA sound and a spectacular view of the racing action.
Multiple racing divisions provide fans and guests with wheel-to-wheel racing action every
Friday and Saturday night.

ASA returns to Lanier National Speedway for the ASA Racing Lanier 250 on Saturday,
May 1, with the first of two practice sessions beginning at 11 a.m. Jani-King Pole
Qualifying is set for 3 p.m. with a fan autograph session scheduled for 6. The ASA
