ENTRIES CONTINUE TO GROW FOR AGT

Wilton, CT- The American GT Challenge continues to add to the series’ list of teams participating. Today the AGT announced the entries of John Finger and Bob Humphreys, both veteran road racers with an accomplished resume.

Veteran driver John Finger brings years of success to AGT with over 200 wins in SCCA, IMSA, Grand Am and ARCA including class victories in the grueling 24 hours of Daytona. Augmenting the 200 wins are many top 5 finishes from 1970 to the present. John’s most exciting victories came in the 24 hours of Daytona and ARCA races at Watkins Glen. 

Finger finished second in points in the IMSA GTU class in 1990, driving a Mazda factory car. The John Finger Racing team will compete in the AGT driving the number 14 Mustang, with sponsorship from John Finger Mazda.

Turn One Motorsports will join the AGT. Bob Humphreys tossed his hat in the ring to campaign the number 4 Delta Apparel Riley and Scott Camaro in selected American GT Challenge races beginning with the season opener at Carolina Motorsports Park over Easter Weekend. Bob developed his skills in the SCCA, Trans Am and HSR.

At home on the Kershaw South Carolina track Bob will combine local knowledge, skill and his experience to give all of the competitors a run for their money

"I have had a life long passion for road racing. The American GT race at Kershaw gives me the opportunity to race in a professional environment at a track that is very dear to my heart," said Humphreys. Humphreys co-founded and help to build Carolina Motorsports Park.

Bob Humphreys acknowledged that the concept of the AGT, to provide a stable series that is cost effective to the cars, is a great motivater for participation. "I'm very excited about the American GT concept as it will give us an arena to race these great cars in a cost effective manner. I plan to participate in as many races as my schedule will allow and look forward to seeing the series grow," commented Bob.

The American GT Challenge will open its inaugural season at South Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina April 10 through 11th. The American GT Challenge uses purpose built tube frame chassis cars, power by a V-8 & V-6 engine, with composite bodies, replicating series produced American touring or grand touring cars competing exclusively on Goodyear Racing Tires.
