PowerLinx, Inc. Becomes a Member of National Truck Equipment Association

PowerLinx Vision System(TM) Promotes Safety For Trucks and Trailers

TIERRA VERDE, Fla., March 30 -- PowerLinx, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: PWLX) , the leader in power line communication products, has become a member of the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA), www.ntea.com, through our business relationship with Mr. Stan Coveleskie, President of SIA Truck Bodies, Inc. who also serves as a Trustee for the NTEA. The NTEA, established in 1964, currently represents over 1,600 companies that manufacture, distribute, install, buy, sell and repair commercial trucks, truck bodies, truck equipment, trailers and accessories. Buyers of work trucks and the major commercial truck chassis manufacturers also belong to the Association. The NTEA is dedicated to furthering the growth, profitability and professionalism of the commercial truck and transportation equipment industry.

PowerLinx intends to sell and market the Company's innovative PowerLinx Vision System(TM) ("PLVS") through its affiliation with NTEA to provide a safer trucking environment as risk management and operator safety are two of the top concerns in the transportation industry. The PLVS(TM) system is PowerLinx's patented power line on board rear & side vision camera system. The system uses PowerLinx's patented analog power line technology, consisting of small environmentally sealed transmitter and receiver modules, which connect to a vehicle's wiring harness. Video from side or rear-vision cameras is sent to the driver via PLC (power line carrier) for viewing on a flat-panel or green phosphorous video display. Since the PLVS system accepts standard EIA/RS-170 video signals, the technology can be retrofitted to a wide variety of equipment. This functionality is sold in a variety of configurations, from single-camera rear vision systems, to multiple-camera systems with automated switching controls and DC digital video recorders. The system enhances vehicle safety and provides property loss savings through reduced accident rates which is expected to lower insurance rates and improve driver working conditions.

PowerLinx currently employs two distribution methods to service the entire 92.9M truck, 1.0M bus, and 20.1M trailer markets: the first, direct to end-user; the second, to nationally known industry providers at the OEM, distributor, and dealer levels in the industry. In the first method, direct to end-user, the Company provides a completely installed system tailored to an individual fleet or manufacturer. In the second method, the Company sells its PLVS(TM) technology to OEMs, distributors and dealers at the national level. In this type of distribution, the reseller may complete the system from its inventory of products (i.e., cameras, monitors, and recorders). Since initial shipments began in March 2003, PowerLinx has sold or installed over 1,000 PLVS(TM) systems nationwide, which include several operating units or fleets of commercial food distributors and transportation leasing companies.
