TULSA, Okla., March 29 -- Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. today announced that it has exceeded the $100,000 level in financial grants awarded to Oklahoma teachers as part of its Neighbors Together for Schools(R) program. In the 2003-04 school year alone, the company has awarded $44,858.00 in financial grants to 100 teachers in 23 Oklahoma school districts and five private schools. This year's program has impacted an estimated 19,000 children in grades K-12, funding special classroom projects that were deemed "above and beyond" the ordinary by Tulsa-based Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group. Grants were awarded to an array of programs, including:

   -- A student exchange program with China;
   -- the purchase of computer "graphing" software to teach data analysis;
   -- sponsorship of a school team attending a speech tournament at Harvard
      University and touring historical sites; and
   -- field trips to Alabaster Caverns in Freedom, Oklahoma, to study water
      erosion.

"I can think of no more deserving a group to receive this money than Oklahoma teachers and the ultimate beneficiaries, Oklahoma students," said DTG President and CEO Gary Paxton. "Again and again, teachers continue to impress us with their creativity in putting together educational programs that challenge our children. Though school budgets continue to be tight, Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group is committed to helping teachers maximize their impact in the classroom. The $100,000 we've injected into Oklahoma's schools has been magnified many times over due to the resourcefulness of our teachers."

In the company's Neighbors Together for Schools program, classroom grants up to a maximum of $500 are awarded to Oklahoma teachers who have the child of a Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group employee in their classroom. The company employs approximately 1,500 employees in Oklahoma.
