Visteon Team Wins Company's Highest Award

DEARBORN, Mich., March 29 -- A team of Visteon IT employees has been awarded the company's most prestigious internal honor, the Leading the Way Summit Award, for its work on the cloning and separation of IT applications from Ford Motor Company.

Visteon's Clone Cluster 1 Team was one of six individuals and teams recognized with Summit Awards by Visteon Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Peter J. Pestillo and President and Chief Operating Officer Michael F. Johnston.

The Team was honored for the successful cloning of Visteon's finance applications and their migration from Ford to Visteon servers. Visteon was spun-off from Ford in 2000. The project, the first of four phases in Visteon's IT separation, required an extraordinary degree of collaboration by a cross-functional team that included 46 members of Visteon IT, Visteon Business, IT Alliance Partners, Ford IT, and Ford Business. The massive effort was accomplished within an aggressive timetable and minimal business disruption.

The Clone Cluster 1 Team was chosen from among 46 individuals and teams, representing eight countries, that received quarterly awards in 2003 for outstanding performance under Visteon's Leading the Way Recognition program.

"Visteon is committed to establishing a collaborative, performance-driven culture in which we recognize and celebrate the success of individuals and teams achieving breakthrough performance," Pestillo said. "I am very proud of Visteon's first Summit Award winners. It was no easy task selecting just six winners, as each of the nominees demonstrated exemplary performance."

Johnston said the achievements of the Summit Award winners represent the "best of the best" of Visteon's accomplishments in 2003. "The Clone Cluster 1 Team and all of our Summit Award winners demonstrate the energy, perseverance and ability to execute that will be hallmarks of Visteon's future success," he noted.

Launched in 2003, the Leading the Way recognition program honors employees who demonstrate exemplary performance, accomplishments or behavior that is significantly above-and-beyond expectations, or results that produce noticeable improvement in areas such as quality, value to the customer, speed and people. The Summit Award is granted annually and is the most prestigious award associated with the Leading the Way program.
