American Century Announces Team Changes in U.S. Growth Strategies
KANSAS CITY, Mo.--March 24, 2004--American Century Investments announced a series of portfolio management promotions and changes within its U.S. midcap growth equity teams, effective today.David Rose, vice president and portfolio manager, becomes co-manager of American Century Heritage (TWHIX), American Century Giftrust (TWGTX) and American Century VP Capital Appreciation (AVCIX), all part of the U.S. growth midcap equity teams. Previously, Rose was co-manager of American Century Vista (TWCVX). David Hollond is being promoted to co-portfolio manager on Vista. Rose replaces Linda Peterson, who is leaving the firm to spend more time with her family. The management teams on the affected portfolios report to Harold Bradley, chief investment officer for U.S. Growth small-cap, mid-cap and sector strategies.
"David Rose and David Hollond have done an outstanding job on Vista and exemplify the strengths of American Century's team management system," said Bradley. "While we're sad to lose Linda Peterson, we certainly respect her decision to spend more time with her husband and young children, and we know that our U.S. midcap growth teams remain in good hands."
David Rose joined the company in 1998. He was promoted to Vista co-manager in 2001 and previously was an analyst for Vista and Heritage. Before joining the company, he was a CFO of a regional publishing company. He holds a bachelor's of science degree in business administration from Washington University and a master's of science degree in finance with an emphasis in investments and banking from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Rose's co-manager on Heritage, Giftrust and VP Capital Appreciation remains Kurt Stalzer, a 25-year industry veteran who has been with American Century since 2000.
David Hollond joined American Century in 1998 and served as an investment analyst on Vista since that time. Previously, he was a research associate for the Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis. He earned a bachelor's of arts degree in Russian and economics from Grinnell College, a master's of science degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin, a master's of arts degree in international studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a master's of business administration degree in finance from The Wharton School - University of Pennsylvania.
Hollond's senior portfolio manager on Vista remains Glenn Fogle, a 17-year industry veteran who has been on the Vista team since 1990.
Linda Peterson, CFA, vice president and senior portfolio manager, joined the company in 1986 and had worked in the investment area of American Century since 1993. Prior to becoming a portfolio manager, she was an investment analyst on American Century Heritage.
