S2 Security Corporation announces the First Installation of its New S2 NetBox(TM) Product at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum

S2's Groundbreaking Security Network Appliance Secures America's Oldest Automobile Collection

WELLESLEY, Mass., March 24 -- S2 Security Corporation (S2), developers of the security industry's first network appliance that fully integrates a range of physical security applications, today announced the initial test installation of its new product, the S2 NetBox. The product, installed at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline Massachusetts, provides video monitoring, card access, and alarm-monitoring functions for the museum's 45,000-foot exhibit space.

The S2 NetBox is a complete, security management system that integrates access control, alarm monitoring, video, intercom, and temperature monitoring applications. Unlike other systems, the NetBox uses existing LAN, WAN, and Internet connectivity in place of proprietary wiring. Users interact with the NetBox through a web browser found on virtually every computer, making it possible to access the system from remote locations and making it unnecessary to install software on any PC -- a feature that S2 calls "zero footprint install". The ease of use of the NetBox is augmented by its high-reliability, high-availability solid state design.

"The S2 NetBox delivers the most physical security functionality in a small package. It's sort of like a Ferrari on the inside and a Mini on the outside," said John Sweeney, director of the Larz Anderson Auto Museum. "Without much training or any special expertise, we're now able to monitor video and verify alarms from any computer in the museum or offsite."

In addition to end users, security installers appreciate the advances represented by the product. "S2's LAN connectivity made wiring easier, reducing our cost to install the NetBox and cameras," noted Craig Griffith, President of Integrated Security Technologies, the company that installed the museum's system. "We did most of the programming from offsite at our own office, and that cut the travel cost."

The S2 NetBox is the first in a line of network-enabled security products. "We'll be releasing the NetBox early this summer, so the Museum's system is an important milestone," noted John Moss, CEO of S2 Security Corporation. "Users can expect to see enhancements to video storage and a solution for larger networks of NetBox systems after the first release."

S2 plans distribution though a network of distributors and OEM relationships. The company is conducting its product test program over the next several months, to be followed by a general release of the S2 NetBox early this summer.

Customers and distributors interested in more information regarding S2 products should visit the company's Web site at www.s2securitycorp.com.
