ArvinMeritor to Supply Trailer Systems to Shenzhen CIMC Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.
BIRMINGHAM, England, March 23 -- ArvinMeritor, Inc.'s Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) business group today announced it has signed a strategic alliance agreement with Shenzhen CIMC Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SCHI) located in Shenzhen, China, to supply trailer systems.

Announced at the Birmingham Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, U.K., the contract includes the delivery of 20,000 trailer axles per year. The agreement begins a five-year long-term global supply partnership between the two companies that will include the purchase and supply of axle systems for a period of five years from the signing date.

SCHI is the fully owned subsidiary of China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd. (CIMC). CIMC is one of the first container manufacturers and Sino-foreign joint ventures in China. Founded by China Merchants Holdings and the East Asiatic in January 1980, CIMC entered production in September 1982. In 1987, COSCO joined the group to make CIMC a tri-party joint venture. CIMC went public in 1993 and has been listed in the Shenzhen Stock Exchange since 1994.
CIMC started to operate as a group structure in 1995. CIMC is dedicated to the manufacture and supply of container, trailer and airport equipment.
