Sterling Marlin Becomes a Grandpa
COLUMBIA, Tenn. (March 21, 2004) --- Sterling Marlin became a grandpa at 6:14 p.m. Sunday evening after the Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 at Darlington Raceway.
Marlin's son, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Steadman Marlin and his wife Mandy gave birth to Stirlin Blaise Marlin at 6:14 p.m. at Williamson County Hospital. The baby weighed in at 9 lbs 3 oz and 21 ½ inches long.
"Paula and I are very excited," Marlin exclaimed. "The baby is a healthy and beautiful baby boy! I have been looking forward to this and I am glad the day is finally here."
Stirlin joins a long line of racers in his family, and with a name like Stirlin Blaise there are only fast times ahead.
