Federal-Mogul and Champion Brands Strike Multi-Year Licensing Deal
SEBRING, Fla., March 22 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation (Southfield, Michigan) and Champion Brands, LLC (Clinton, Missouri) announced at the Sebring International Raceway a long-term licensing agreement that extends the globally-recognized red and black Champion "Bow Tie" logo to market high-quality performance additives for automotive, heavy truck, marine and specialty industries.
The initial Champion Performance Additives product roll-out includes five products bearing the mark:
-- Champion(R) Synthetic Engine Protectant -- Champion(R) Complete Fuel System Cleaner -- Champion(R) Octane Booster -- Champion(R) Fuel Injector Cleaner -- Champion(R) Power Steering Fluid Plus Stop Leak
Developed to help consumers address specific automotive power, performance and protection needs, the line features problem/solution labeling, enabling customers to easily identify correct products and develop regular maintenance schedules. The new products are in addition to the full line of performance additives and lubricants Champion Brands currently manufactures, and will be targeted to national accounts and mass merchants channels.
"This alliance leverages the globally recognized red and black Champion `Bow Tie' logo with the heritage of Champion Brands quality manufacturing and distribution," says Tom Minner, President, Champion Performance Products, a division of Champion Brands.
"The Champion Spark Plugs brand is one of the world's most recognizable logos that consumers readily identify with power and performance," says Jay Burkhart, Vice President, Global Marketing and Brand Strategy, Federal-Mogul. "We're excited to be able to extend one of the automotive industry's strongest brands into an entirely new line of high-quality products in the retail marketplace."
Champion Brands recently relocated manufacturing operations to a significantly larger facility to accommodate growth with current and future customers. "Our plant location, just outside Kansas City, Missouri, enhances our ability to serve customers nationwide," says Minner. "As an integrated manufacturer, we offer a significant quality, consistency and distribution advantage because we handle every aspect of blending, marketing and distributing our products."
