BAM! - Sebring race half-distance

half-distance

BAM! had a strong start to the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, charging from
the back of the grid to first in GT in the first hour of the 12-hour race.
Despite a long pitstop to replace a broken windshield, the team's No. 43 YES
Network Porsche 911 GT3 RS was fifth in class at the halfway mark.

Mike Rockenfeller drove the first stint. He moved from 18th to 10th in GT on
the second lap, following fellow Porsche driver Lucas Luhr, and took the class
lead at 1h8. Peter Baron took over at 1h15, returning to the track third in
class and taking the lead at 2h20. Leo Hindery drove at 2h32 and held fifth in
class. Rockenfeller then drove a double stint from 3h2 to 5h15. Another
Porsche hit the car during a caution period at 3h55, hampering Rockenfeller with a
broken windshield. He was still able to regain the lead lap and move up to
third in class. After a two-lap pitstop to replace the windshield, Leo Hindery
took the wheel at 5h15, fifth in GT and two laps behind the class leader.

Mike Rockenfeller:

"The car is running very, very well so far. We changed the windscreen so it
should be all right until the end of the race. I was with Lucas [Luhr] for the
whole stint. I was a little faster, but I didn't want to fight at that point
because we both wanted to go to the front. In the last five laps or so, I
overtook him. It was great to catch up so much and it was a lot of fun!"

Peter Baron:

"Other than the one setback with the windshield, things are going quite well.
We lost two laps fixing the windshield, but we're still only at the halfway
point. If we just keep on a good pace without making mistakes, we'll be okay."
