BRIDGESTONE IS OFFICIAL TIRE OF THE
30th ANNIVERSARY TOYOTA GRAND PRIX OF LONG BEACH

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 17, 2004) - For the third consecutive season,
the Bridgestone brand is the Official Tire of the famed Toyota Grand
Prix of Long Beach, one of the country's premier auto racing events.

Bridgestone first appeared as the Official Tire at Long Beach in 2002,
the same year that the brand debuted as the Official Tire and sole
supplier for Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by
Ford. The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, an annual stop on the Champ
Car World Series circuit, features world-class competition in open-wheel
racing. This year, every Champ Car competitor will again be equipped
with Bridgestone Potenza racing radials.

In addition to the main event, the Bridgestone brand will also serve as
the Official Tire for the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race for the eighth
straight year. Participants in that race will compete in
specially-prepared Toyota Celicas equipped with the popular Bridgestone
Potenza RE750.

"This is certainly a very busy week for us, but we wouldn't have it any
other way," said Al Speyer, Executive Director, Bridgestone Motorsport.
"We're proud to be so closely associated with the Grand Prix of Long
Beach, which is certainly one of the country's premier sporting events.
It's the perfect place for us to showcase our Bridgestone brand to a
very knowledgeable and enthusiastic audience. We look forward to it
every year."

The Bridgestone brand first appeared in auto racing more than four
decades ago and has appeared in many of the world's top forms of
motorsports. In 2004, in addition to Champ Car, the Bridgestone family
of companies will serve as supplier to many teams in various types of
competition, including MotoGP, AMA Supercross/Motocross and the FIA
Formula One World Series, where Bridgestone-equipped drivers have won
the last six consecutive world championships. For more information on
