Technology Steven Sewell will oversee the Motorock Trans-Am Seriesı
Technical Committee in 2004. All Trans-Am technical operations have been
brought under the Champ Car banner. Sewell will be joined on the Committee

The Committeeıs first initiative will be to evaluate the rules governing the
various manufacturers, marques, engines, chassis and bodies in Trans-Am

Carıs vast technical resources.

³Iım privileged to have a key role in the future technical direction of
Trans-Am,² said Sewell. ³We plan to stay the course taken last year toward
competitive balance among the marques, while using new technology to

series administration. Sewell comes to Champ Car after 18 years at Skip
Barber Racing, during which he held several senior managerial posts. Sewell
began his career in racing in 1978.

³Iım thrilled to be a part of Trans-Am and the Champ Car organizations,²

and it plays a significant role in North American motorsports.²

³Steve will be a welcome addition to the Trans-Am team,² said Motorock
Trans-Am Series Executive Director John Clagett. ³He has substantial
experience working in a series environment, and possesses both the technical
expertise and communication skills required to be an effective technical
director. He will be a tremendous asset to the Trans-Am Series.

³Merging Trans-Am technical operations with the Champ Car Technology
Department is a key factor in Trans-Am continuing to provide a competitive
environment for all manufacturers and marques,² added Clagett. ³The addition
of Champ Carıs sophisticated equipment and experienced team members will
prove invaluable and will have a profound effect on Trans-Am Series rules.²
