Canney will enter his junior season in road racing, having started his career in 2002. For the 2003 season, the team continued in the American Sedan class, with a win at Virginia International Raceway. By the end of the season, Mike had won 7 of 11 races in the Intelligence Data Systems Mustang, and won the SCCA-MARRS championship.
The 2004 season will bring Canney and his team into the American GT Challenge for the team's first efforts into professional racing. Canney is anxious to start the year and looks for a successful effort.
The American GT Challenge will open its inaugural season at South Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, South Carolina April 10 through 11th. The American GT Challenge uses purpose built tube frame chassis cars, power by a V-8 & V-6 engine, with composite bodies, replicating series produced American touring or grand touring cars.
