Leading Ambulance Maker's Commitment to Continuous Improvement Yields Results

ELKHART, Ind., March 12 -- McCoy Miller, one of the nation's leading manufacturers of emergency vehicles, was awarded Ford Motor Company's Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) designation, the auto giant's highest recognition for manufacturers of specialty vehicles. With a near perfect score of 101.5 out of possible 103 points (98.5%), the Ford QVM audit validates McCoy's efforts to employ best practices necessary to be competitive in the specialty vehicle manufacturing industry.

The QVM program tests whether a specialty vehicle manufacturer is using the best methodologies in core areas such as design, engineering, manufacturing, and quality control. In addition, the QVM program audits compliance with all applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), as well as Ford's own guidelines for process control. Ford's guidelines alone include more than 50 requirements.
