Chrysler Group Reports Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales for February
-- Sales Increased 30 Percent Year-Over-Year -- Year-To-Date Sales Increased 14 Percent Over Year-To-Date 2003
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 12 -- Chrysler Group reported Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle (CPOV) sales of 8,407 units in February 2004, an increase of 30 percent over February 2003 when 6,453 units were sold.
"These strong February results confirm consumers' desire to own vehicles that manufacturers stand behind," said Ray Fisher, Chrysler Group Vice President - Fleet and Remarketing. "Our Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program, along with our Five Star dealers that sell them are recognized as being one of the best in the business and our growth in this segment proves it."
Year-to-date sales for the Chrysler Group CPOV program increased 14 percent compared to year-to-date sales for 2003. Each Chrysler Group brand also posted significant CPOV sales increases. Chrysler brand posted sales of 2,273 units, a 45 percent increase over February 2003, and Jeep(R) brand posted sales of 1,791 units, a 5 percent increase. Dodge brand increased 36 percent to 4,343 units compared to February 2003.
Marketed as "Brand Spankin' Used," Chrysler Group Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles are only sold by Chrysler Group dealers who have earned the Five Star certification.
