Delphi Builds Global Quality Reputation With Toyota

Delphi earns quality awards from Toyota in Asia-Pacific and North America

TOKYO, March 10 -- Delphi Corporation recently earned an important quality award from Toyota Motor Corporation in Nagoya, Japan.

At the Toyota Global Suppliers Convention in Nagoya, Japan, on Feb. 27, Delphi received the "Award for Quality Improvement."

The award recognizes achievement in quality performance in 2003 for the total current business with Toyota, which includes products featured on various models.

Delphi Asia Pacific President Dr. Choon T. Chon attended the awards ceremony. "Delphi continues to make progress in meeting Toyota's exacting standards and we are very proud to be recognized in this way," he said. "Our goal is to continue on the path of progress, to make even more significant contributions to Toyota and to continue to earn their recognition in the future."

Toyota's recognition of Delphi as a quality supplier also extends to North America. On March 1, Delphi received several awards from Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America (TMMNA) for excellence in cost, quality and delivery. At the 2004 TMMNA Annual Supplier Business Meeting & Awards Ceremony in Kentucky, Delphi was recognized with the following:

  -- Superior Award for Quality and Superior Award for Delivery for
     batteries;
  -- Excellent Award for Value Improvement,
  -- Superior Award for Quality and Certificate for Cost and Delivery for
     radiators, and;
  -- Certificate for Cost, Quality and Delivery for temperature sensors.

For Toyota's global platforms, Delphi technologies are featured on the Corolla, Camry, and Yaris models. In North America, Delphi technologies are on the Corolla, Matrix, Camry, Avalon, Tacoma, Sequoia, Tundra and the Lexus RX330.
