Bigger, Better, Stronger: Henkel Technologies Integration Unites Strengths, Knowledge of Three Leaders

MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., March 9 -- Henkel KGAA recently integrated its three industrial business units to create the world market leader for adhesives, sealants and surface treatments -- Henkel Technologies. The new business sector combined Henkel Surface Technologies, Henkel Loctite Corporation and Henkel Adhesives.

Uniting a wealth of globally aligned research and development resources helped improve products and technology while speeding innovations to market. Transitions during the reorganization were externally seamless as customers continued to work with existing representatives, who now have access to a wider selection of highly effective products and services.

"Henkel Technologies leverages a rich tradition spanning more than 128 years of technical innovation and commitment to ensuring customer success," said Chuck Evans, vice president, automotive components group, Henkel Technologies. "Working together to share ideas across industries enables us to deliver highly creative solutions that meet individual customer needs in less time."

Henkel Technologies' products and services are used in a number of automotive applications including body and chassis, powertrain, interior and electronics. These applications come from a diverse technology portfolio, which includes acoustic solutions, structural adhesives and foams, corrosion protection, gasketing, potting, dispensing equipment and chemical management.

"While this integration makes excellent business sense, our customers are the true winners in terms of increased value, services and new ideas," said Evans. "Rather than searching from one supplier to the next, our customers can now obtain essential sealant, adhesive and coatings solutions from one source, reducing complexity and procurement costs."

The new organization operates 96 facilities in 72 countries across the globe, including research and development centers in Germany, France, the United States, Ireland and Japan. Ten of Henkel Technologies most visible brands account for 65 percent of its sales -- Loctite(R), Teroson, Adhesin(R), Hysol(R), Euromelt, Liofol, Bonderite(R), P3, Multicore(R) and Turco. These, and the company's many other quality products, are supplied to every major automaker and Tier One supplier in the automotive industry.
