Tele Atlas Powers ROUTE 66 North American Route Planners

MENLO PARK, Calif. & AMSTERDAM--March 9, 2004--

ROUTE 66 Route USA 2004 and ROUTE 66 Route Canada 2004 Software Driven by Tele Atlas' Comprehensive Turn-by-Turn Data for North America

Tele Atlas, a worldwide leading provider of digital map data and dynamic location content, and ROUTE 66, a specialist in geographic software and hardware products, announced today that Tele Atlas' turn-by-turn digital maps are powering ROUTE 66's new route planners for the North American market. ROUTE 66's newly expanded line of route planning software includes ROUTE 66 Route USA 2004 and ROUTE 66 Route Canada 2004, and leverages Tele Atlas' digital map data and location content for seamless door-to-door routing in North America.

ROUTE 66 Route USA 2004 offers more than just efficient routing for planning business and personal travel. The navigation solution contains more than 6,500,000 streets in the United States and Canada. In addition, it contains more than 4,000,000 points of interest (POIs) from infoUSA in over 60 categories -- including hotels, restaurants and gas stations -- accompanied by their addresses and telephone numbers.

"ROUTE 66 researched the North American market and optimized its products to meet the needs of users in the United States and Canada," said Job van Dijk, CCO, ROUTE 66. "Tele Atlas' turn-by-turn, comprehensive maps, with extensive points of interest were key features for us to have to launch our routing solutions for the North American marketplace."

ROUTE 66 Route USA 2004 also supports global positioning system (GPS) technology that enables users to determine their precise locations with satellite navigation and to avoid becoming lost. Additionally, users may add roadblocks such as construction and detours so that the system can automatically take this information into account when performing route calculations and avoid user-designated areas.

"We are pleased to work with ROUTE 66 as it launches its product into the North American market," said Richard F. Pearlman, vice president of navigation and telematics for Tele Atlas in North America. "ROUTE 66 Route USA 2004 offers an ideal desktop-based routing solution for users who want seamless door-to-door coverage in North America."

ROUTE 66 Route USA 2004 and ROUTE 66 Route Canada 2004 are available for both Windows(TM) and Macintosh(R) operating systems and are available through http://www.66.com and major retailers.
