Champ Car World Series Announces 2004 Race Schedule

INDIANAPOLIS (March 8, 2004) Crafting a calendar of races that will take
its drivers and teams to five countries and three different continents, the
Champ Car World Series today released its 2004 racing schedule.

The challenging schedule features permanent road courses and temporary
street circuits along with a trip to the venerable Milwaukee Mile oval. The
slate of races features a mixture of traditional events and more recent
additions to the Champ Car calendar, and will make a new stop this year at a
street circuit in Seoul, South Korea.

³We are very excited about our entire 2004 schedule, and are especially
happy with the diversity of challenges it presents to our teams and
drivers,² said Champ Car President Dick Eidswick. ³Our fans have been
outstanding in their support over this offseason and we are anxious to get
started and provide them with another season of great racing.²

The Champ Car season takes the green flag on April 18 with one of its
marquee events, as the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach marks its 30th
anniversary. The series then visits Monterrey, Mexico for the fourth running
of the event in Fundidora Park.

The Milwaukee Mile will host a night Champ Car race for the second
consecutive year on June 5 as the series then settles into its summer
stretch. Champ Car will run on consecutive weekends three times in 2004,
with Cleveland and Toronto in July, Road America and Denver in August and
again with the Seoul, South Korea and the street race in Surfers Paradise,
Australia coming on back-to-back October weekends.

November will see Champ Car head to Mexico for a second time in 2004 with
the event at Mexico City¹s Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The race at the
challenging road course event set an all-time Champ Car record last year
with a race-day attendance figure of 221,011 and a three-day total of
402,413 fans.

³Bridgestone is quite pleased with the diligent effort put in by Champ Car
to develop this exciting schedule of races. We are delighted to be returning
to many key U.S. markets such as Long Beach, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Denver
and Laguna Seca,² said Bridgestone Executive Motorsport Director Al Speyer.
³We're also excited about the new challenges that lie ahead at Seoul. This
mix of domestic and international events, on a most challenging array of
road courses, street courses and ovals, is the perfect showcase for our
Bridgestone brand and high-performance tire technology. We cannot wait to
get started.²

Details on the two remaining events on the schedule are being finalized.
